Welcome from Principal Rebecca Pinto

My name is Rebecca Pinto, and I am excited to be a part of this outstanding community of learners and honored to be appointed as the new Principal of North Davis Elementary School. I am a long-time Davis resident, and my three daughters attended our Davis Schools and are successful adults in the community today. Outside of school, I enjoy hiking, cooking, gardening, and volunteering with local organizations like NAMI-Yolo, STEAC, Yolo Food Bank, and a few others. As we begin this new chapter together, I would like to take a moment to share my professional background and vision to ensure our school’s continued excellence.

My journey in education started with a Masters of Arts degree in Education and one in Literature from Nagarjuna University, India. Later, I earned my teaching credentials from UC Davis, and my administrative credential at Sacramento State University. With over two decades of experience in education, including 17 years as a middle school teacher and three years as an elementary school assistant principal in the Vacaville Unified School District, I am thrilled to bring my expertise and leadership to North Davis Elementary School.

My vision for North Davis Elementary School is to continue to create a learning environment that respects diversity, and ensures every member of the school community thrives academically, socially and emotionally. I am committed to ensuring that every student feels safe, valued, and supported, and that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Parent involvement is vital to the success of our students and staff. I have an open door policy and love to collaborate and hear fresh ideas on how we can continue the legacies/traditions.

As the new principal of North Davis Elementary School, I am excited to work with our students, staff, families, and community to continue building upon the strong foundation of academic achievement and community engagement that already exists. I look forward to getting to know every student and family, and partnering with you to ensure the success of our students. I have already begun collaborating with Ms. Roseen on this transition and trust our work will help the transition for us all.

Thank you for entrusting your child's education to us. I am excited to begin this new journey with you and your children. Go Dolphins!
